Estén Preparados – Be prepared

Jesús nos dice al final del capítulo 28 del Evangelio según San Mateo: “Vayan, pues, y hagan discípulos a todas las gentes bautizándolas en el nombre del Padre y del Hijo y del Espíritu Santo, y ensenándoles a guardar todo lo que yo les he mandado”.
Desde el libro de Deuteronomio hasta el Apocalipsis, la biblia nos advierte que no debemos añadir o quitar nada a las enseñanzas en ella escritas.
Estamos llamados a evangelizar, a llevar la palabra de Dios a las personas, pueblos y naciones que la desconocen. Este llamado empieza en casa, con la educación de nuestras hijas e hijos, pero para llevar a cabo este mandato de Jesucristo con fidelidad, debemos prepararnos y formarnos, debemos conocer y vivir la palabra de Dios.
La iglesia Católica, depositaria de las enseñanzas de Jesucristo y de las Tradiciones de los apóstoles y los padres de la iglesia, toma muy seriamente la responsabilidad de catequizar al pueblo de Dios.
En la Arquidiócesis de Mobile existe, desde hace varios años en el idioma Ingles, el “Programa para la Certificación de Catequistas San Juan XXIII”. Este programa de estudios esta diseñado para preparar a los catequistas, maestros de escuelas Católicas, líderes de grupos de jóvenes, equipos de ministerio de jóvenes y líderes catequéticos parroquiales para el ministerio de la catequesis. Consta de tres módulos o componentes: Teológico, Espiritual y Metodología.
A partir del 6 de Noviembre de este año, la oficina del Ministerio Hispano de la Arquidiócesis de Mobile, en coordinación con la Oficina de Evangelización y Vida Familiar ofrecerá el programa para la certificación de catequistas en español. Las clases serán impartidas inicialmente en la Parroquia Santa Maria de la Misión, en Opelika, cada primer sábado del mes a las 9:00 am, y empezaremos con el componente teológico, el cual tiene tres dimensiones.
La primera dimensión de este módulo consiste en las clases de Apologética de la serie “Estén preparados”, seguida por la asignación de lecturas asociadas a las clases; por último los participantes serán evaluados para demostrar su dominio de la materia.
El componente Espiritual consiste de dos eventos de formación espiritual, mientras que para el componente de metodología se ofrecen dos talleres donde los catequistas aprenden a ser educadores más efectivos.

From the book of Deuteronomy to Revelation, the Bible warns us not to add or subtract anything from the teachings written in it.
We are called to evangelize, to bring the word of God to people, towns and nations who do not know it. This call begins at home, with the education of our daughters and sons. But to faithfully carry out this mandate of Jesus Christ, we must prepare and form ourselves. We must know and live the Word of God.
The Catholic Church is the repository of the teachings of Jesus Christ and the Traditions of the apostles and the fathers of the Church, and it takes the responsibility of catechizing the people of God very seriously.
In the Archdiocese of Mobile there has been, for several years, the "Program for the Certification of Catechists Saint John XXIII." This program is designed to prepare catechists, Catholic school teachers, youth group leaders, youth ministry teams, and parish leaders for the ministry of catechesis. It consists of three components: Theology, Spirituality and Methodology.
Beginning Nov. 6, the Hispanic Ministry Office of the Archdiocese of Mobile, in coordination with the Office of Evangelization and Family Life, will offer the program for the certification of catechists in Spanish for the first time. Classes will be initially offered at Saint Mary of the Mission Parish in Opelika every first Saturday of the month from 9 a.m.-noonw and we will begin with the theological component, which has three dimensions.
The first dimension of this module consists of the Apologetics classes of the series — “Be prepared” — followed by the assignment of readings associated with the classes, and finally, the participants will be evaluated to demonstrate their mastery of the subject.
The Spiritual component consists of two spiritual formation events, while for the methodology component two workshops are offered where catechists learn to be more effective educators.
