DAPHNE — The Christ the King Church Knights of Columbus from Fr. Ryan Council 2737 has received the distinction of Star Council, the international organization’s top award for local councils.
The Star Council Award recognizes overall excellence in the areas of membership, promotion of fraternal insurance benefits, sponsorship of faith formation programs and service-oriented activities.
This year already, Council 2737 is planning another busy fraternal year with sports challenges for children at Christ the King School, participation in Baldwin County Special Olympics, volunteer hours at the Prodisee Pantry as well as various fundraisers that support our Church and community.
With more than 2 million members in more than 16,000 councils around the world, the Knights of Columbus is the world’s largest Catholic lay organization.
It provides members and their families with volunteer opportunities in service to the Catholic Church, the community, families, and young people.
In 2022, The Knights of Columbus at all levels of the organization raised and distributed $194 million to worthy causes, both large and small, and rendered close to 48 million hours of volunteer service.
