Daughters of Mary holding Day of Prayer and Silent Reflection The Daughters of Mary of St. Ignatius Parish in Mobile invite all women in the archdiocese to its annual Day of Prayer and Silent Reflection from 8:45 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 11. This year’s event will celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Daughters of Mary.
The day begins with 8 a.m. Mass at St. Ignatius, followed by the opening presentation at 8:45 a.m. in the Marian Center. Fr. Anthony Wieck, S.J. will address “Coming to Know the Holy Spirit.” Lunch, drinks and snacks will be provided and confession will be available after the 2 p.m. closing prayer.
Fr. Wieck is a Jesuit priest of the Central and Southern province and has been the Spiritual Director of the Daughters of Mary since its inception. Sixth of nine children, raised on a farm in Oregon, Fr. Wieck began religious life in 1994, spending his first five years of formation in Rome, studying at the Casa Balthasar. Fr. Anthony was missioned to Spring Hill College for 2½ years surrounding his ordination in 2010. Fr. Wieck currently acts as retreat master at White House Jesuit Retreat in St. Louis. He also offers spiritual direction at the St. Louis diocesan seminary for 30 future priests there. Fr. Wieck's charism for silent, Ignatian retreats and his gift for spiritual direction will be a blessing to us as he reflects prayerfully on the depths of our Catholic Faith.
